Media Center MissionMissionThe Mission of the Union Grove Media Center is to empower students to become enthusiastic, independent readers, information seekers, critical thinkers, and creative problem solvers.Overview StatementThe school library media program is critical to the learning experience. The Union Grove Middle School media center serves students in grades 6-8. The media center is staffed daily by a full-time certified media specialist. The media specialist will work collaboratively with classroom teachers on research and technology projects. Students are welcome to visit the media center independently with a pass. The media specialist encourages literacy by providing and promoting well-reviewed and high-interest materials, offering reading incentive programs, and facilitating the school’s summer reading program.Goal and Objectives of the School Media CenterThe media center strives to meet the needs of learners in individual and collaborative settings and promotes the use of library media center services.
