Meet Mrs. Tarplin

Greetings, Wolverines! It is with great excitement that I introduce myself as one of UGMS' 7th grade math teachers. I earned my Bachelor's and Master's degree in Middle Grades Education at Georgia Southern University. I then went on to earn my Specialist degree in Curriculum & Instruction at Kennesaw State University. Throughout the past 13 years, I have taught sixth grade math, seventh grade math, and served as a math instructional coach. I joined the UGMS family at the start of the 2023-2024 school year as the Math Connections teacher. This school year, I look forward to continuing to make an impact as a 7th grade math teacher. 

I am truly passionate about teaching and creating a collaborative, safe, and challenging learning environment for students. My goal as a teacher is to empower my students to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and self-advocates. 

Outside of work, I love spending time with my husband and our three amazing children. I also enjoy bike riding, running, gardening, and watching movies.
