LGHS 2024-2025 Tardy Policy
Wildcats, as you work towards better habits and responsibility, please be aware of the Schools Tardy Policy and Consequences
Henry County Schools has moved to Period Based Attendance this school year for Secondary Schools.
TARDINESS TO SCHOOL
Students are considered tardy if they are not in first period when the 8:15 bell sounds. Tardies to school will only be excused with a note from a doctor or dentist, a court order, or for other reasons stated in the attendance section of the Henry County Secondary School Handbook. Only 3 hand-written parent notes will be accepted for tardies per semester. Excessive school tardies may result in loss of parking privileges and administrative referral. Please refer to the student handbook for acceptable reasons.
TARDINESS TO CLASSLGHS will use Student Conductor this year, which is a tardy class tracking system. Students are expected to be in class on time as listed on the bell schedule. Students who are late for class will need to visit a Student Conductor station for a pass when late in between classes. There are four stations throughout the building. Administrators issue discipline consequences for tardies according to information from Student Conductor.
TARDINESS TO SCHOOL DRIVER CONSEQUENCES
Student drivers who are excessively late for school are subject to the following consequences:
5 UNEXCUSED SCHOOL TARDIES = 2 days of ISS
8 UNEXCUSED SCHOOL TARDIES = Parking Suspension & Administrative Conference
10 or more UNEXCUSED SCHOOL TARDIES = Required Parent Conference & Parking Revoked
