My name is Michelle Pildner. I taught 3rd grade for twenty-one years, and this is my seventh year serving as an EIP teacher. I have been at Unity Grove Elementary since it opened. I came from the original McDonough Elementary (now board offices). I graduated from Clayton State with an Associate's degree, Georgia State University with a Bachelor's Degree, and Troy State University with a Master's Degree. I am currently the Varsity & JV Basketball cheerleading coach and Varsity & JV Gymnastics coach at Locust Grove High School. I have been busy this summer with moving into a new house, traveling to Alaska, and being with family since I retired from competition cheerleading--this is the first summer that I haven't worked!
I am married to a wonderful man, Billy. My husband and I have been married for 30 years. He is a police officer, fire inspector, fire investigator, and EMT. He stays very busy at his job in Fairburn as a Captain and Assistant Fire Marshall. We have two beautiful daughters, Bethany and Meagan. Bethany graduated from Piedmont College with an athletic training degree. She graduated with a Master's degree in teaching from Thomas University. She is in her fourth year as a PE teacher. She is at Woodland Elementary. Meagan graduated from Point University with her teaching degree. She is also a teacher in Henry County. This is her third year at Locust Grove High School. She teaches the Early Childhood Education class. She is also an assistant coach for the Wildcats' softball team. Meagan just got married in May, so we are excited to welcome a son, Mason, into our family. We are an extremely blessed and busy family!
I am excited to share my knowledge and enthusiasm with your child this year. I enjoy teaching, coaching, reading Nicholas Sparks' books, stamping, and crafting. I also enjoy going to church and spending time with my family! Please remember that we are a team, and I need your help making sure that your child has a successful year!
