This will be my 20th year of teaching exceptional student education here at Hickory Flat. I was a paraprofessional in a classroom for students with severe and profound intellectual disabilities for a year before I was a teacher. I have also worked in a preschool setting. Before I was in the education field, I worked as a foster care social worker at DFCS.I went to Eagle's Landing High School here in Henry County. I got my bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Georgia. I have a master's degree in education with a concentration in multiple and severe disabilities from Georgia State University. I also have my online teaching endorsement.I have lived in Georgia all my life. I have been married for 21 years to my amazing husband. I have an 12 year old son who is in 7th grade this year at Union Grove MS. I also have a 16 year old son that attends UGHS. We have one dog, fish, and chickens.I love to be constantly going and doing things with friends and family. Traveling is one of our favorite things. I also enjoy camping, hiking, outdoor festivals, shopping, reading, attending sporting events, going to concerts and other performances, and spending time with friends and family.I love working with students! It is very rewarding to see them overcome challenges and make progress. There is never a dull moment in our class!
