      How to Opt-Out of the Georgia School Climate Survey

      The information provided by the GSCS is critical for school and district planning; however, the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) gives parents/guardians the right to opt their child(ren) out of survey participation. 

      The Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA) gives parents/guardians the right to opt their child(ren) out of participating in the survey. If you do not wish for your child to participate in the Georgia Student Climate Survey, please complete the form located below by Monday, December 2, 2024.

      Opt-Out Form

      Parents/Caregivers may follow the option below if they do not want their child to participate in the Georgia School Climate Survey:

      • Opt-out by informing the school in writing.

        • Parents/Guardians may request in writing that their child/children be excluded (opt-out) from taking the survey.

          • Schools are only responsible for forms that have been turned in for the current school year administration window. 

        • The written request should be sent to the school(s) their student(s) attend by Monday, December 2, 2024.  Although December 2 is the date set for opt-outs to be submitted, parents may continue to complete the opt-out process throughout the survey window.
