Hello. This is my sixth year teaching at Union Grove High School and 7th year teaching overall. I grew up in Atlanta, Ga and graduated in 1997 from Cross Keys High School. After graduating, I entered the United States Navy and served for 20 years. My job in the Navy was Executive Assistant, Police Officer, and Instructor. The last year of my time in the Navy was spent volunteering at local high schools in IL, as I knew I wanted to continue to mentor the youth. I retired from the Navy in 2018 and immediately began teaching NJRTOC in Chicago Public Schools. After one year of teaching in Chicago, I decided to relocate back to my hometown. My husband has also retired from the Navy, and we have a 17-year-old son who also attends UGHS. My hobbies include watching football/basketball, shopping, grilling, playing pool, and playing video games.
My education background consists of a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a minor in Finance, as well as a Bachelor's in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management and Organizational Leadership.
I am excited about beginning another great year at UGHS and believe that all children can benefit from NJROTC. Our class is not just about self-discipline, our curriculum is heavily focused on developing leadership and respectful citizens in all students. The goal is to guide and mentor young people to become successful professionals after high school. We support not only the military, but vocational, technical, and other college opportunities. We provide the structure that is necessary for personal growth and hope you consider NJROTC as an elective. There are many volunteer community service events that cadets enjoy partaking in. I look forward to meeting you!
